Jonathan Stuart
Jonathan started training in western Reiki in 1999 and after a number of years became a (Western) Reiki Master Teacher. Subsequently, one of his fellow students was one of the first westerners to be taught by Chiyoko Yamaguchi along with Frank Arjava Petter in Japan. She recommended attend a seminar being taught in the UK in 2004 by Tadao, Chiyoko’s son, and Jonathan never looked back. Obtaining Shihan (Teacher) status in September 2008.
This was a turning point, it was like being given exactly what you had been looking for, with out knowing you were looking. Jonathn had been teaching what he had learned and passed it on to the best of his abilities, but something wasn’t quite right, but he didn’t know what. Learning Jikiden Reiki put this right, it brought it back to Earth for me. Reiki is a simple, practical and effective system, enabling everyone to heal themselves and others.
Being given the information as it was taught originally made so much sense, it cleared up any ambiguities, and now makes teaching flow correctly and easily as it should.
It is with great respect to Mrs Hawayo Takata that Jonathan now approaches Reiki, because without her we in the west wouldn’t know about it and there are millions who have learned, thanks to her. But unfortunately over time important teachings were changed or left out of western Reiki courses, which we can now pass on in their original form once more. Thanks to Chiyoko and Tadao Yamaguchi.
