Jikiden Reiki in London
Reiki (Ray Kee) is a hands on healing system discovered in Japan in the early 20th century by a gentleman named Mikao Usui. It is a method that allows life force energy (Ki) from all around us, to flow through a practitioner to assist the natural healing process in other, by focusing on areas which need it the most.
Jikiden means directly passed on. Why is this important? Unfortunately in its journey to the west Reiki lost a lot of the back ground information passed on with the original teachings, things were added, changed and whole sections left out. This allowed Reiki to deviate from its simple, practical use for everyone to becoming a more esoteric practice. Information was only passed on to students with an explanation of why and how it was used. This is not to create a secret or select few, but to have understanding passed on with them. Anyone can look up the symbols on the internet (which are not exactly what were originally taught) but without understanding they are meaningless. This is why having an understanding is different from knowing something.
Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai is the name given to the Reiki institute set up by Tadao Yamaguchi His mother, Chiyoko, learned with a Doctor Hayashi (One of the 20 Teachers taught by Usui Sensei) back in the 1930s. She spent her life treating others and perfecting the art of using Reiki in the simplest and most effective way. Chiyoko and Tadao Sensei wanted to help people understand that Reiki is so simple, anyone can learn and heal easily. The aim of Jikiden Reiki seminars is to enable people to learn practical Reiki that has been proven by experience to be very effective. Other objectives of the institute can be found here.
Spiritual awareness is a natural and important process of Reiki. The beauty of Jikiden Reiki is that it can appeal to everyone. Its emphasis is on treatment, and so those people who do not feel they want to get into “spirituality” can easily accept and use Jikiden Reiki. Those who are spiritually aware and looking for more will also experience the wonderful effect Jikiden Reiki has on their lives.
